A light switch is a single pole switch you can reverse the wires and it will work exactly the same way the only way to change the orientation of whether it is on or off is by physically reversing the switch. Light switch reversed. The switch in question doesn't seem to have a another switch that runs the same light it just reversed itself (which i know os impossible) i've been waiting for the landlord to get an electrician here to help since i have no other choice to kill all the power in the house, since former owner was an electrician and lets just say he got creative.
light switch reversed
Have just replaced an old single plastic light switch with stainless steel version (also added an earth wie to connect switch to metal back box) original had red wire into com, yellow in l1 and red in l2 - all single wires new switch was identical setup and i marked cables before removing. Third) it is a three way switch. that means there are two switches controlling one light. either switch can turn the light on or off. if this is the case perhaps the other switch is seldom used and it has been used once and effectively reversed the switch you commonly use. fourth) this is, in fact, the way the switch has always worked.. Or it might simply be in a hard-to-reach location so that you just don't think of using that switch. if you can find the other switch, flip it once and now this switch will be reversed and work the way you expect it. if it is a 3-way switch and you can't find the other end, you can simply remove the switch and replace it right-side up and you.
